Happy Nowrooz 1400

Nowruz is the Iranian New Year which begins on the Spring equinox; Nowruz has Iranian and Zoroastrian origins and is celebrated by Iranian ethnic groups all over the world. Its origins go back to Keyumars, the first king of Iran, and other mythological figures such as Jamshid and Kay Khosrow. In various historical narratives, Zoroaster is mentioned as the founder of Nowruz and Cyrus the Great as a kingdom during whose rule the ritual of celebrating Nowruz spread on the plateau of Iran.

Nowruz has been celebrated by diverse communities for over 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin, the Balkans, and South Asia. Nowruz was added to the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as "International Day of Nowruz"; Nowruz is the most important link between Iranian ethnic groups around the world, so that 300 million people celebrate Nowruz annually in different countries of the world, from the countries of Iranian culture to European and American countries.

The Office of International and Scientific Cooperation of University of Mazandaran congratulates Nowruz and the beginning of the 1400 solar year to all our dear compatriots and wishes the 1400 to be full of health, happiness, and success for all people of the world.
