Vice president of Research and Technology of University of Mazandaran visited University of Boras of Sweden
During the visit an MoU on holding double degree PhD programs was signed with this university.
According to the UMZ Public Relations, the PhD double degree program with the University of Boras aims to further scientific collaboration on such areas as waste management and resource management.
Dr. Mohammad Hossein Fatemi, in an interview pointed out that following the UMZ’s policy of expanding international academic interactions, an MoU was signed for holding joint double degree PhD programs as well as joint research projects in the field of applied chemistry and resource management.
He also added that according to this memorandum it was decided to accept students for a course entitled "Resource Recovery at Boras University and Applied Chemistry at University of Mazandaran. These students will spend half of their studies at the University of Mazandaran and the other half at the University of Boras.
Dr. Fatemi further added: "Given the environmental problems of landfills of the province of Mazanaran and the need to create indigenous knowledge for waste management, University of Mazandaran is trying to play a pivotal role in waste problem of Mazandaran through creating specialized research hubs and by launching customized post graduate courses and programs. Considering the successful experience of the University of Boras in this field, it is hoped that the transfer of this technology to the province can alleviate some of the problems related to the waste.
