On Wednesday a workshop entitled “Toward an Integrated Assessment of the Persian Gulf and Caspian Sea in the 21st Century from Geophysical, Environmental and Climatic Aspects” was held at the University of Mazandaran with the partnership with six renowned professors of Hamburg University.
Representatives of many Iranian organizations and research institutes such as Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran, Ministry of Power, Meteorological Organization of Iran, Geological Survey Organization of Iran, and Water Resources Management Company were present at this workshop. During separate meetings which were held on the sideline of the workshop, the aforementioned organizations discussed their problems in different panels.
Moreover in a supplementary meeting planned to take place on Saturday, 25th of Dey at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), the German delegation and the representatives of University of Mazandaran will discuss the issue of hardware transfer, and how to transfer the related technology with the officials of the ministry.
Also, in line with expanding international relations and cooperation of UMZ, a memorandum of understanding was signed between this university and the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences of University of Hamburg. Additionally, in a meeting which was presided by Dr. Mirnia, the UMZ president, the two parties emphasized that the necessary steps should be taken in order to expedite the execution of mutual projects such as transfer of technology, laboratory equipment and a research vessel from Germany to the Caspian Sea.
