University of Mazandaran and the two Italian Universities of Camerino and Macerata signed memorandums of understanding
According to Dr. M. Azizi, the Director of the Office of International and Scientific Cooperation (OISC) of the University of Mazandaran, on Wednesday 15th of July 2016 a delegation consisting of the presidents of two prestigious Italian universities of Camerino and Macerata attended a meeting hosted by Dr. S. K. Mirnia, the president of the University of Mazandaran.
In the meeting that ended with the signing of MoU’s between the three universities, each party expressed hope that the signature of the MoU’s would help expand the existing academic collaboration between the two ancient countries of Iran and Italy.
Professor Francesco Adornato, the president of the University of Macerata, made mention of the university’s 700 rich history and said that the city of Macerata with its university is a true reflection of the region with its medieval architecture, traditions and culture. He also hoped that the two universities would help foster bilateral relations on such different platforms as setting up short-term Persian and Italian language programs, exchange of teachers and students, providing the faculty with the opportunity to spend their sabbatical leaves in the three universities…
The President of the University of Camerino also expressed hope that the two universities can forge strong bilateral ties in different fields of humanities, especially because this university is focused on programs and courses that are essentially related to humanities and liberal arts.
It is noteworthy that a sizeable delegation of Italian industrialists, businesspeople, tourist managers, etc. visited the province of Mazandaran in mid July 2016
